What is window tint?

Tinting film is usually a very thin layer of clear polyester film with tinting agents such as dyes &/or metal infused onto the film. Once this tinting film is applied to a window, it alters how outside visible light comes through that window. Normal auto glass without any tint applied will reflect around 5%(known as VLA%), and transmit around 90% of visible light (known as VLT%) into the car.

When people refer to tint with a particular percentage, they are most likely referring to the tint's VLT% (Visible Light Transmittance).

VLT% tells you how much visible light is allowed to shine into the vehicle, and also indirectly how dark the tint looks (for example, 50% tint allows more visible light through, while 05% (limo) tint which is darker allows less visible light trough). Tinting film doesn't just block visible light, it also blocks harmful cancer causing ultra-violet (UV-A and UV-B) rays as well as infrared (IR) rays that cause solar heat to accumulate within your vehicle.

Why some cars after being tinted have like a white looking on top of the rear glass?

Dot matrix are small black dots that the factory put. These dots are located around the edge of some windows and along the back glass as a visual cosmetic border. The dots are basically bumps on the glass that cause the film to stick in the dots instead of the window. This will not cause the film to peel but it will seem silver in appearance.

This is normal and will not disappear. Once the film dries it's sometimes possible to press them down to some degree.
